Clicking the terminal screen can manage the manufacturing equipment all the way; product quality data are available in the central regulation and control center in real time; the manipulator can grab the goods freely through remote control… In the workshop of Ningbo Jianxin Chassis System Co., Ltd., digital and automated equipment are gradually taking the place of traditional manual operation. The smart factory project for the production of chassis system with Jianxin has been successfully chosen as a pilot project for the demonstration of intelligent manufacturing in China in 2017, thus becoming the first national intelligent manufacturing project in Jiangbei District.

Now Jiangbei boasts more intelligent manufacturing factories like Jianxin. And more than 1,000 enterprises in Jiangbei have their own “Clouds” for fast development of digital economy. According to statistics, the scale of the digital economy in Jiangbei (namely the industrial value of kernel industries of information economy) reached 880 million yuan in the first 5 months this year with a year-on-year increase of 160 million yuan and an increase speed of up to 22.2%. Meanwhile, the major software business income of 31 major information technology and software enterprises in Jiangbei reached 286 million yuan with an increase of 28%. The business related to information technology is now in full swing and the digital economy is redefining the urban economy in Jiangbei District.

In recent 2 years, Jiangbei has been following the principle of “lowering the platform a bit; government subsidizing for a little; enterprises investment a bit more” and promoting the transformation of traditional manufacturing enterprises into industrial internet enterprises by way of drastically reducing the cost of using public cloud resources for enterprises. As we can see from the evaluation of the result on enterprises on clouds in 2017, a total of 1,180 enterprises have their own clouds and 3 enterprises, including Ningbo Keli Sensing Technology (Ningbo) Co., Ltd., have been entitled as one of the first group of provincial demonstrative cloud enterprises. Meanwhile, the scale of cloud service providers has been ever enlarging and Jiangbei now boasts a local cloud service ecology with more than 10 cloud platform service providers of Mobile Cloud and Telecom Cloud and over 50 cloud application service providers.

“’Internet +’ is the method for achievements in digital economy.” Said a representative with Jiangbei Economic and Information Technology Bureau. Jiangbei is to continue to choose a group of application enterprises for pilot demonstration of clouding in major regions and key industries. It is planned to enter the stage of scale coverage in 2019 and the stage of expansion and application in 2020 and the scale of enterprises on the cloud further expands.

Digital economy has not only changed the background color of the urban industry in Jiangbei and taken the lead for high quality development of industrial economy in Jiangbei. In order to grasp this round of industrial reform, Jiangbei has planned in advance with fine schemes and make the development of digital economy “No. 1 Project” by Jiangbei District Party Committee and the People’s Government of Jiangbei District for great leap forward of the big data related new rising industries. Last year, the output value of the industrial IOT cluster in Jiangbei amounted up to 6.7 billion yuan with an increase of 34%. The increase rates have surpassed double digits for the past 3 years. And the new rising industries, represented by the industrial IOT, contributed 10% of the total output value.

Under the driven of digital technologies, the industrial manufacturing industry in Jiangbei is developing a more agile production and management system. As the investigations show, after digital and intelligent transformation, the manufacturing efficiency of the major industrial enterprises in Jiangbei has increased by an average of over 20% and the operating cost has decreased by 15%. The digital economy is “distinguishing itself”. A group of intelligent equipment, such as AGV robots, high precision sensing systems and circulating automatic quality inspection equipment that are equipped with IOT technology are of great popularity now.
