Zhou is the Chief Scientist and Party Branch Secretary of Ningbo Solartron Science and Technology Co., Ltd. and is always busy with his work on various projects and internal affairs. As far as the employees of Solartron concerned, Zhou Yubo has never been pompous, and quite on the contrary intimate in private. Everyone likes to call him “Dr. Zhou”.

“I came to Solartron in Year 2011 when Solartron is less than 1 year old.” Said Zhou Yubo. He was born in Ningbo and specialized in polymer materials. Before joining Solartron, he worked in a company in Beilun on the R&D of plastic particle materials. In 2010, Zhou Yubo showed great interest in the membrane industry when he heard the news that Dr. Jin Yadong is to cooperate with CMARK Capital Holdings Co., Ltd. and set up Solartron for the development of the whole industrial chain of the membrane industry. “At that time, there were very few enterprises who were specialized in production of optical thin film, and I knew that Solartron is of great potential for further development, and I changed my research direction towards the downstream of the membrane industry and joined Solartron.” Said Zhou Yubo.

As the fact turns out, Zhou Yubo made a quite correct decision. Thanks to the strong scientific innovation capability, Solartron is able to develop extremely fast and stay full of vigor. “The optical membrane industry is a high-tech industry and of a great and promising future. When we together work out a product, it makes you feel extremely content and happy.” Said Zhou Yubo. Solartron was registered in November 2010 and the first generation of optical reflection membrane was produced in August 2011. Such a new product of leading comprehensive competitiveness was developed within a short period of 10 months, filling the gap in the domestic market and breaks the monopoly of technology in the field of optical film by the United States, Japan and South Korea, etc.. That was a great success.

“This very product has renovated the raw material formula and adopted a one-off molding process to make its efficiency of reflection higher but with lower production cost. Besides, it would not turn yellow or bended after long-term use and the stability is stronger than others of the industry.” Introduced Zhou Yubo. “During the process of developing the product, the whole research and development team had been dedicating themselves to work more than 12 hours a day. Though I live in the downtown area in Ningbo, I went home only once a week at that time. Some co-workers had only one chance to go to their hometown outside of Ningbo.” Said Zhou Yubo, quite impressed by the tough and long process of developing the product.

“Our R & D personnel have formula team and process team. I belong to the formula team. For example, the formula team is like a chef's side dish, while the craft team is a fry.” As far as Zhou is concerned, every co-worker of Solartron is of great importance, who have made the Solartron a strong power of the industry, winning patents one after another nowadays and breaking monopolies again and again. Solartron is now favored by many big customers all over the world. When being asked about the future of the company, Zhou said: “We would dedicate to produce some kernel membrane materials of some influence in the international optical membrane industry.”
